I’m trying to create a new custom post type on the site. I intend to include a “night spots” post type similar to the custom post type artists.
I started by copying and modifying the files within the folder custom-types/artist to custom-types/spots.
After, I created and edited the following files: loop-spots.php, loop-archivespots.php, loop-indexarchivespots.php, part-spots.php, part-archivespots.php, part-indexspots.php, part-spots-notracks.php, single-spots.php and taxonomy-localspots.php.
In the next step I created a spot named “Spot 1”, and added it to the menu. Everything worked fine and i have the path to the post equal to”site.com/spots/spot-1/.
In the breadcrumbs menu i have “HOME> SPOTS> GENRE> LOCAL 1”.
As regards the HOME, GENRE and PLACE 1 everything worked well. The link SPOTS opens a page with the wrong style, equal to the blog page. How can make the SPOTS page design similar to the grid in GENRE? What i am missing?

I strongly suggest to use a plugin for that, “more types” plugin.
I tried the plugin that you suggested but it did not work as i wanted.
With the plugin I dont have the navigation with taxonomies as the theme have for artists and events. And I have to do the css for Fields that i need.
I preferred to continue to do the work by hand 🙂
I have one more question. The Events use the Facebook Comments plugin. What must I do to artists and releases also have the same comment system?
due to that reason I added for you the Labels as post type in the latest slam version which is available to download from themeforest. Labels are not displayed in the frontend unless you link them from the menu. Is exactly what you need.
Please refer to the article in this helpdesk homepage to know how to update if you are not practice with this.
Wow. That’s great. It will save lots of work.
I have one more difficulty. I download the latest version and upgrade the site. After that i can’t find the new post type. I look in the theme files and the admin panel and not find any reference to Labels. It looks to me like the new version in themeforest is the v 3.2.3. [2015.05.12].
Can you help me.
Thanks a lot for your support.
That’s not a post type is just a taxonomy, like “category” but for releases. You create it straight away from the release editor
Ok, thank you.
And about the Facebook Comments plugin. What must I do to artists and releases also have the Facebook Comments system?
You can use any facebook comment plugin to replace original comment form with facebook comments
